We produce single-phase induction (mechanical) energy meters in our own factory in Wenzhou, China. The induction meter has no electronics to fail: it is simple, stable and easy to maintain, which is why it is still widely used in residential metering and rural projects. Every meter is calibrated on the test bench before shipment.

How a Single-Phase Mechanical Meter Works

The current produces a rotating magnetic field that turns an aluminium disc. The number of revolutions is proportional to the energy consumed, and the register counts them. There is no power supply, no firmware and no battery — the meter simply keeps counting for years.
