What Is a Single-Phase Electronic Energy Meter?
It is a static (electronic) meter that measures one live wire and one neutral wire, using a metering chip instead of a rotating disc. Compared with an induction meter it is more accurate, has no moving parts, and can be fitted with communication and prepaid functions.
